Magply Multi-Purpose Fire Protection Board

PARK HOMES AND OSM

For Park Home and other off-site manufacturers, Magply offers a simple solution, internally and externally. This is especially beneficial for the Park Home manufacturers as there is a more stringent standard being introduced later in the year as well as the new (as of 2016) energy rating calculator so they have one less thing to worry about. The use of Magply offers excellent fire protection, sound qualities and decor is easier. Internal and external finishes are supplied quickly and simply without having to switch to another board for high moisture areas such as kitchens, wet- rooms and bathrooms; YES! Magply can also be tiled, able to support up to 80kg/m2

. WOODBURNERS

With the continued popularity of solid fuel appliances comes the issue of lining the space behind them - 12mm Magply has been approved by HETAS for this particular purpose also providing specifiers with the assurance that their internal design will not be short lived.

Whether you are specifying an internal or external board for structural or non-load bearing applications, choose Magply; it will satisfy all of your requirements. Magply replaces a large range of products including OSB, Ply, cement particle and gypsum boards.

Magply is manufactured from naturally occurring minerals, combined with alkaline resistant glass fibres for strength and integrity in a process which generates very little in the way of CO2 emissions. Magply is then air cured ensuring low impact on the environment. Magply also becomes stronger and stronger with age, maintaining stability throughout the lifetime of the building.

Black Mountain have supplied the timber frame and park home markets for some time with Magply but now interest is coming thick and fast from other areas such as: Cladding

Lift Shaft Lining Wet rooms/bathrooms Specialist Dry Lining Fire Doors Soffit lining

...... and many, many more. TIMBER FRAME

Black Mountain’s 9mm Magply board replaces formaldehyde-heavy OSB on the outside of the stud, providing excellent structural strength and stability even at narrower fixing centres whilst protecting the structure from fire with Class O and A1 non-combustible performance; something which an extremely limited number of products have achieved.

With fire protection being a primary consideration especially during the construction phase, Magply achieved 91 minutes’ integrity (86 minutes’ fire insulation) with the 9mm board.

Magply has been confirmed suitable for purpose in accordance with product paper 4 by Martin Milner Associates.

To finish the required appearance of the building, Magply can take render, weatherboarding, cladding or any other facade.

FLOOD PRONE AREAS

Magply has been found to be structurally stable in areas of repeated flooding. Whereas standard plasterboard would have to be ripped out and replaced each time with the costly issue of disposal, Magply can be cleaned down, eliminating tide marks and redecorated once it has completely dried out.

Magply is also frost resistant; if submerged in water, frozen and then thawed, its structure will not change.

LARGE PROJECTS

For larger projects such as: Schools

Shopping Centres

Leisure Complexes & Parking Areas High Rise Buildings Airports & Railways

Magply is perfect as it does not contain any VOCs and is breathable so will not contribute towards ‘sick building syndrome’. Magply has high impact resistance and is very tough but will also easily take nails and screws for fixing to any structure as well as internally in classrooms and homes alike for artwork, shelving and bracket/frames for TV’s, showers, etc.

Magply can easily be scored and snapped to make the board smaller when finishing off a section and is taped and jointed in the normal way meaning that contractors will not have to do anything out of the ordinary. Magply is lighter than other fire protection boards; a better solution all round for large scale works.
