he City of Calgary’s Transportation Department has an annual program to explore new innovations in trans-
portation, and to optimize the transpor- tation network using new technologies. Over the years, this program has piloted many new systems, software, and hard- ware throughout Calgary. Calgary’s ITS projects benefit pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders, and vehicular traffic, by improving safety, mobility and reliability of the transportation network.
