THE BEST LIVE MUSIC FOR THE MONTH AHEAD
Right then, my green-fingered gig- goers. It's April, and there's lots to do this month in the garden. So, as soon as your bushes are trimmed and your hardy annuals have been pricked out, fire up the Flymo and beat a path to the city gates for this little crop of beauties.
Tere's no fooling Te Quireboys.Tey're booked to play the Waterfronton the
1st.Monsters of rockery.
Ooh la la! Pop-rockers PVRIShave sold out the LCRon the 2nd.I might just check out those fun guys Mushroomheadat the Waterfront instead.
Te Sheepdogs are touring their fifth album, Future Nostalgia, and visit Norwich Arts Centreon the
3rd.Get down, Shep! Alternatively, pop along to Te Bicycle Shopfor those water-loving folksters from Cambridge, Te Willows.
Still at Te Bicycle Shop, our own Woodland Creatures are supportingLuke Daniels on the 4th. Scurry along.
American pop-punks Patent Pendingbring their Spring Break tour to the Waterfront Studioon the 6th.Expect plenty of gardening tips at that one. Otherwise, let Palladino, Ellie Bea, Jimmy, and Floorboyentertain you at Te Birdcage.
Norwich band Wicked Faith make it heavy and loud at Waterfront Studioon the 9th,supported by Tearaway and Danger
Road.For something a little different

Warsaw Village Bandplay the Norwich Arts Centre with Polish folk meeting Indian, Persian and Galician influences. Lovely hybrid variety.
You probably won't be moshing to Moshi Moshi band Telemanat Openon the 11thbut their Brilliant Sanity will bring you pleasures of a different kind. Double dig.
Jack Garratthas sold out the LCR on the 12th, so maybe check out Mike Dignamat Waterfront Studioinstead. He's a hard-working Manc singer-songwriter. He might have an allotment. I'm not sure.
It'll be a Night to Remember with Shalamaron the 13th. Tey'll be sweeping up the glitter for weeks after that one at
St.Andrews Hall. I've still got some flared gardening gloves somewhere.
Gig of the Month for me will be Misty Miller at Norwich Arts Centreon 15th. Her name might sound like a refugee from Camberwick Green, but she's actually from South London. Blooming lovely. And, by the way, we're half way through the month, so mow your lawn.
Reggae Workers Of Te
Worldtake over Te Owl Sanctuaryon the 16th. Don't forget to water your pot plants first.
Mercury-nominated C Duncanplays a re-arranged date at Norwich Arts Centre on the 17th,or you can catch Next Big Ting finalist Maya Lawplay Gonzo's along with Leaone, Te Novocaine Kid, Palladino, and Chad Mason on the same evening.
Te raucous Molotov Jukeboxstormed the Adnams Spiegeltent during the Norfolk and Norwich festival three years ago. Tey return to Waterfront Studioon the 20th, whilst Nothing But Tieves, who have supported Muse, play a re-arranged date at the LCR. Who's pinched my barrow?
Big up, too, to Walkway, who supported Status Quo on their recent Accept No Substitute arena tour. Grab a front-row seat for their headline appearance at Te Brickmakerson the 22nd. Alternatively, Te Flatliners are playingTe Owl Sanctuary. I do so love a stripy lawn.
Hawkwindfly their 35 year old Silver Machine into the LCRon the 23rdwhilst Wishbone Ash's Martin Turnermakes it a prog- rock double at Waterfront
Studio.Prune heavily, mostly in the Autumn. I'll be at Norwich Arts Centrefor bubbly Bonsai pop princesses Shonen Knife. Cultivated trees in little dishes.
Heg & Te Wolf Chorus are keeping it lupine (in a bunch) at Te Bicycle Shop on the
26th.Meanwhile
Pony Up bring an early taste of summer to Norwich Arts Centrewith Beach Baby. Buckets and spades cleaned and ready.
Follow it up with Te Treatmentnext day(27th) at Waterfront Studio, supported by our own Walkway and also Te Amorettes. A daily dose of Miracle-Gro really does make a blooming difference.
Lethal Bizzlehas been upgraded from Te Waterfront to theLCRon the 28th,but I might mosey down to Te Plasterers for a pint or three in the company of Chad Mason, Lee Gordon, Y's, and Te Tin Heart Troubadours. Cowgate, innit.
Mystery Jetsfly into the Waterfronton the 29th, ten years after Making Dens on Eel Pie Island, whilst on the same night the mighty Bellowheadwave bye-bye as their farewell tour pulls into Open. Tar she blows.
And, lastly, let's not forget Trashersaurus, the two- day metal festival that gets under way at Te Brickmakerson the 30th. Remember to apply an iron- based dressing to stop moss taking over your lawn, and spray copper sulphate on your fruit trees.
So, Happy Pottering, pop- pickers! I'll see you on the other side of the compost heap in May.
