Planking on the 46-foot bridge decked cruiser at Six River Marine in North Yarmouth is done.
The C. C. Hanley catboat being restored at Doug Hylan Boats in Brooklin. In York at Rollins Boat Shop they are
working on a 92-year-old daysailer, which was built in England. The bottom had been previously fi berglass and they were now glassing the topsides. The challenge was this is a lapstrake boat and the owner would like to see the laps. One problem that developed was when they were removing the center- board it fell on the fl oor, and since it was iron, it broke into several pieces. A new one has been made, but this time it will be steel. A Peterson Sea Skiff is in and is being
converted from a sportfi sh to an express cruiser. They started at the bottom and have replaced frames, fl oors and planks. They also have done work on the decks, transom, and the engine has been put back in place. Next they will be working on the interior, but for now the project is on hold. The Elco 50 is being worked on in another shop. Her owner has decided that
much to the interior and right now they are painting it. They are putting down a new cabin sole. This boat is scheduled to be launched this summer. They also have some storage boats that
he would like the cabinetry bleached. The engine and running gear has been put in place. A job coming up this spring and summer
will be on the gundalow ADAMS. She has been moved to Dover, NH and she needs to be spruced up. Her decks, which were built of four inch pine boards, needs to be repaired and caulked with pitch.
Six River Marine in North Yarmouth
has completed the planking on the 46 foot bridge deck cruiser, which is for a com- plete restoration. Next they will be fairing and caulking the hull. The new drivetrain, which includes the shaft, rudder, struts and bearings are in. The propeller was fi ne, but needed to be reconditioned. The engine, a Detroit, is in, but before this could happen they reinforced the engine beds and added Soundown mounts. They did not have to do
need some minor work before they go in this year.
Gamage Shipyard in South Bristol has had a busy winter. In one bay they have a Wilbur 34, which
has had new fuel and black water tanks in- stalled and they have replaced the pilothouse windows. In another bay, is an Alden 44. She has
received a new refrigeration system, a new teak deck, some rig work, and paint. An Ocean Alexander 48 has been in for
system upgrades, bow thruster, plumbing and paint. A Bristol 48.8 has had her battery system redesigned and they installed a new Northern Lights gen-set. A Dyer 29 is in for a new teak wind-
shield.
An Alden 34 has had her battery system upgraded, electrical upgrades and repairs
were made to her fi berglass keel. Outside in a temporary building is a 32
foot 1967 Grand Banks. She has had plank work done from the waterline down. They have also replaced the transom. The aft cabin has had her top and sides given a new veneer. They have also added a new settee, a new exhaust system and a Force 10 stove.
Doug Hylan Boats in Brooklin has several projects underway at the shop. The main project this winter is on a C. C.
Hanley catboat, named MOLLIE B, which was formerly owned by Maynard Bray. This project had been on hold and previously they had replaced the backbone, frames, part of the stem, fl oors and centerboard. This winter they have worked on the interior and cabin. She will be done and launched this spring. On the upper deck they have two small
boats underway. One is a Beach Pea and the other is an 11½-foot rowing tender. Both will be completed for spring delivery. This coupled with their storage cus-
tomers, which all needs their usual annual maintenance, will keep them busy right through spring.

bur 34, named SEA DRAGON, which is 10 years old. She has a wooden top, which needed some minor repairs. They also strengthened the top of the shelter as people have been using this to dive off of. Other work included adding a third battery, new cushions, paint and varnish. Up in the back shop they have a 45-foot
Millennium, which is being fi nished out as a sportfi sh/12 pack for a customer from St. Thomas. Down below she will have four berths, a head with shower, storage and a galley, which will include a sink and micro- wave. She will also have air conditioning, hydraulic bow thruster and hauler, auto pilot, hydraulic steering, live well and fi sh box. She will be powered with a C-18 Caterpillar with a Twin Disc gear. This project is expect- ed to be completed mid to late summer. A Wilbur 38 will be coming in for a
major refi t. This will be done in four phases, the fi rst phase to include paint. Two 34s are in the shop. One will have
her forward cabin sole replaced and both will have their annual maintenance done.
