SEBASTIÃO SALGADO The San Diego Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego present internation- ally renowned photogra- pher Sebastião Salgado as the featured speaker for their 16th annual Axline Lecture. The Brazilian- born artist’s quest to cap- ture nature in its unspoiled original state culminated in 2013 with the publication of Genesis, a portfolio of 200 black-and-white pho- tographs. The San Diego Museum of Art has a selection of works by Salgado from its permanent collection and from the collections of MCASD and the Museum of Photographic Arts on view through May 17. The annual Axline Lecture is in honor of Jackie and Rea Axline, longtime trustees and support- ers of the museums in Balboa Park.

EBIKE EXPO Electric bikes provide the rider with power-assist as they pedal. As the sec- ond stop on a six-city national tour, the expo comes to Liberty Station with rep- resentatives from more than 20 eBike producers and the chance to test-ride more than 100 models. The specially designed expo course fills more than 25,000 square feet of the parking lot near Liberty Station’s Ace Hardware and includes terrain features to test the bike suspensions as well as a hill that allows riders to feel the power of the
