At the last Parish Council meeng, councillors voted not to increase the precept for the seventh year running. The precept is the amount of money raised from the community, collected through Council Tax, which funds the Parish Council’s work. It equates to about 50p per week for the average household. This has been achieved by keeping costs under a ght rein and by using windfalls from Ulity Companies and Secon 106 Developers’ Contribuons. Key projects over the past year have included footpath improvements in the Pleasure Grounds, refurbishing the Pavilion at the Barnes Lane Recreaon Ground and connuing to maintain the large amount of open space in the village for the benefit of all residents.
