• Cat Seddon, FCA, recently joined nationwide firm Haines Watts Chartered Accountants as a director in its Farnborough office. With over 16 years’ experience, Seddon has an in-depth understanding of the region and its businesses. After training with a Farnham firm, Seddon went on to join the Surrey offices of national practices. Haines Watts works with a wide range of owner-managed businesses and Seddon has many entrepreneurial clients across Hampshire and Surrey, of varying sizes, including standalone companies, groups and plcs. She provides specialist audit, accountancy


and tax services; predominantly to owner- managed businesses across many sectors. As well as overseeing the compliance aspects, Seddon provides a consultancy/advisory role.


• Wilson Partners has announced further additions to its award-winning business with Dan James (top) and Neeraj Dhuna joining the corporate finance team. James joins as transaction services director and will work closely with colleagues in the lead advisory and tax teams to deliver a one- stop service for all forms of corporate transaction. Prior to joining Wilson Partners, James spent over 11 years with BDO in Reading, London and Chicago, covering audit, business restructuring and transaction services. He has over seven years of transactional experience. Dhuna joins from PwC in Reading as corporate finance executive. He has over five years’ experience working with a wide range of businesses from listed companies to owner- managed businesses within sectors including food and drink, pharmaceuticals and financial services. Dhuna will work to deliver advice and assist on deal execution across company acquisitions, disposals and management buyouts (MBOs).

• Law firm Blandy & Blandy’s property team has continued its recent expansion following the arrival of Andrew Bond from Taylor Vinters, which has offices in Cambridge, London and Singapore. Bond brings over 35 years’ experience in acting for commercial property investment companies and individuals in the acquisition and disposal of mixed property portfolios nationwide. He is also involved with the financial structuring of these transactions, including negotiations with funders where appropriate. He has also acted for UK banks in relation to their loans to property investors and institutions. In addition, he has been involved in major infrastructure projects. Bond is joined in the property team by fellow new arrivals, solicitors Hayley Moore and Dr Nataliya Topliss.


• The Romans Group has recently appointed Nigel Deller (left) as business development consultant and Peter Tappin as land and new homes manager. Deller’s position is a new role with the task of sourcing opportunities for all areas of the growing business. He joins Romans after being involved in the residential property market across Berkshire and North Hampshire since 1976, both in estate agency, in sourcing land for the development of new builds, and the conversion of commercial and redundant farm buildings. Working closely with Romans’ land and auctions teams, Dellar will be using Romans’ diverse and unique framework of property services to source leads for potential land development, auction lots with regards to probate, letting investment and mixed use, and finding new letting acquisitions. Tappin, land and new homes manager, will be based in Guildford, covering Surrey, Sussex and North Hampshire. The new role follows the successful merger of Meldrum Salter Edgley (MSE) into the Romans Group in June 2015. Tappin had previously been a partner and head of residential sales at MSE and is a well-recognised face in the Guildford property market. As well as Guildford, his experience covers a broad area including Surrey, the Thames Valley and South West London where he has been involved in the sale of land and property for over 33 years. Tappin’s extensive knowledge of the industry and local area is a key strength in advising home and land owners together with local and regional developers. This, and the commitment to providing an outstanding quality of advice, won him 'Property Professional of the Year' in 2014, an award voted for by clients and the general public.


• Property consultancy Bidwells' senior partner Patrick McMahon has announced that Fiona Norman from the Oxford office is among the company’s 2016 promotions. Norman, who works for the rural division and has been based at the Bidwells’ Oxford office for almost five years, has been promoted to the position of divisional partner. A total of 20 people from across Bidwells were promoted.
