LARRY JOHNSON PRESIDENT/CEO


from 2002-2004 to return to work for Menlo Worldwide. In August of 2004, Larry rejoined the


Association as our President. Larry serves on a number of community, industry boards and commissions focusing on highway safety, economic development and career pathway initiatives. Larry has 3 grown children, Tara, Tom, Joe and a grandson, Tyson.


PATRICIA WOOD VICE PRESIDENT


Previously Wood served as marketing and


public relations director for the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) for 10 years, and as an economic development business consultant in DED’s Business Development Division for nearly nine years, being promoted twice within. After graduating Doane College, she moved to California and was a purchasing manager for Newport Adhesives and Composites, Inc, in Irvine, Calif. She is a member of and serves on several


Larry is a native of Hastings, Nebraska.


He’s a 1977 graduate of Hastings High School and attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He has been involved in moving people


and freight all over the world for almost 45 years, starting with Continental Trailways Bus Company in 1972. After graduating high school, he joined


Frontier Airlines serving in various operations/ sales and Executive management positions in 10 different cities. After Frontier’s bankruptcy in 1986, he joined National Car Rental and then CF Airfreight/Emery Airfreight/Menlo Worldwide in their sales departments. In 1997, joined the Nebraska Motor


Carriers Association as the Director of Development/Sales until 2002, leaving briefly

industry, economic development and safety associations and councils, including being a founding member of the Nebraska Logistics Council. She is the past-president of the Ruth Hill Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association, serves on the American Cancer Society’s Hope Gala planning committee and Relay for Life Team, and the American Heart Association Go Red for Women, and volunteers for a number of activities at Sheridan Lutheran Church and in the Lincoln community. She previously served on the Sheridan Child Development Center’s board of directors. Wood holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in

In her role, Wood provides non- profit and for-profit management, leadership and development, customer service, relations and experiences, business development, strategic communications, marketing, event planning and development, media relations, fundraising, and information, services and advocacy to all members.


Corporate Communications with emphases in Public Relations, Advertising and Training from Doane College in Crete, Neb. She holds certificates as a Human Resources Generalist; in Facilitative Leadership; Supervisor Training; Reasonable Suspicion Training; ISO 9000:2000 Auditor; and in BREI-Business Retention and Expansion. Wood and her husband of nearly twenty-


three years, Kelly, have two children, Connor, 13, and Katherine, 11.
