Torrevieja’s Carnival and all it’s festivities will start during the first week of February. For the record, the Torrevieja Carnival 2016 is held on two days, the daytime carnival on the 7th at 4pm and the night- time event on 13th February starting at 10pm. The parade follows a route from María Asunción Square, along Calle Ramón Gallud to Patricio Pérez street. At the end of the afternoon parade, prizes will be handed over. The parade lasts about 90 minutes and thousands of people line the streets. Hundreds of kilos of sweets are thrown to the watching crowd

and more than 1,000 people from many different schools, clubs and associations take part. The night-time parade, has more of a Brazilian flavour to it, in that it can be a little more suggestive, but it’s all done in good humour. Don’t forget your camera.
