Nida Hadeed. Background: Was born in Syria in a Christian family, and lived on the Caribbean island of Antigua from age 16 through marriage, growing in faith and leading prayer meetings and Bible studies at home and church, especially with Arabic women. After her 40-year marriage ended painfully in divorce, she began traveling to the United States and last year decided to settle here permanently. What drew her to FPCA: Acquainted with the FPCA Arabic community, she began attending Friday Morning Women’s Bible Study and some committee meetings, and has registered to become a Stephen Minister. She is honored to become part of the FPCA family and the work of God.


get back to middle school teaching. Interests: Is a local breastfeeding counselor through La Leche League USA.What drew her to FPCA: Similarities to home church Derry Presbyterian, in Hershey. After many years of moving, she looks forward to settling here and having a new home church at FPCA as her children grow up.


Dave and Judith Mellman, Allentown. Family: a son and three grandchildren. Background:Will be married 43 years in February, and were members of our church in the 1970s. Interests: Dave is a retired printer, and his hobby is ham radio.


Maggie Haley, Macungie. Family:Husband Rob; children Rose and Travis. Background: Grew up in Hershey, PA. Te family moved from Pittsburgh in summer 2015. Works part-time from home as a college writing instructor for Pearson and hopes to

Randy Kimble and Hugh Marsh, Bethlehem. Family: Randy has two married sons, one in Denver and the other in London. Background: Recently married to one another. Randy, originally from Palmer Township, was a member here in the early 1980s, and retired after 37 years with Air Products. Hugh grew up in Emmaus and works at Lehigh Valley Health Network as a registered nurse. Interests: Randy: Biking, kayaking, going on cruises with friends, going to the beach and gym, hiking, and family. Currently co-chairs the LGBT Business Council for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. Hugh: Classic cars, exercise, cooking, and formerly racing greyhounds. What drew them to FPCA: Teir good friend Larry Erickson invited them to an alternative service. Tey found everyone friendly, open, and accepting, and love the Christian spirit of this church.


Ngun Ta “Sam” Peng, South Whitehall. Background: Employed by Amazon. Interests: Playing the guitar and piano.


Carol and Randy Wagner, Allentown. Family: Grown daughter and son, four grandchildren. Background: Married for 34 years. Carol was born in Scranton, raised in New Jersey, and graduated from Muhlenberg College. She worked for Rodale for 13 years and retired from PPL EnergyPlus after 16 years. Randy was raised in Emmaus; has worked at Allen Organ 31 years. Granddaughter Jade was active with FPCA youth when she lived with Carol and Randy; grandson Andrew joined our church through Confirmation Class last year. Interests: Reading and cooking. What drew them to FPCA: Community, kindness, diversity, and love.


Jim and Lori Simmons, Macungie. Background: Jim’s hometown is Pittsburgh, and he is an engineer. Lori’s hometown is Emmaus, and she is in sales. Interests:Teir two-year-old golden retriever, Murphy; cooking and entertaining. What drew them to FPCA: Everything it offers—a warm and friendly congregation, lots of activities, and an awesome pastoral staff.


Marianne Werling, Allentown. Family: Two sons, one home, the other in the Navy. Background: From Sarasota, FL, now lives in West Allentown. Is a geriatric social worker for Lehigh County. Interests: Reading, walking dogs, working with youth. What drew her to FPCA: Our alternative worship services.
