in some photo- graphs,” she says. “So I brought Rock- efeller to a photo shoot and he was in his glory. The lights, the noise, the activity—noth- ing bothered him. Evidently his com- petition training had prepared him for this new activ- ity. He received so much attention and he was won- derful to work with. He was the hit of the photo shoot.” Lauren added
the photographs of her and Rockefeller to her modeling portfolio and soon these photographs began catching the attention of photographers. More photographers were inspired to photograph Lauren, alongside of or riding Rockefeller, in their art to showcase the beauty of horse and rider. “My goal is not to be just another model on a horse but to be a model on her horse actually riding to demonstrate the motion, the energy, the connection, and most of all elegance between a horse and rider in a photograph. By modeling with Rockefeller, it brings horses and the equine sport into the public eye,” she explains. The pair has now been photographed by top west coast fashion
photographers, including Malachi Banales, Rene Salvador, Brian Love and Gary Westby. “I hope that this modeling career for Rocke- feller and I will open some new opportunities. I hope to start a new genre of modeling and be published in the top fashion magazines as well as be part of some major ad campaigns. Rockefeller and I have goals we can work toward and I find the reward even sweeter,” explains Lauren. Lauren and Rockefeller are currently enjoying a new way to
showcase equine beauty and athleticism. “Life is too short to just give up if something doesn’t go your way,” she says. “Have an active imagination, think outside the box and take a chance!”
The theme of these three photos was the 1930s. (The clothing was provided by Gee Gee Equine Boutique, with hair and makeup by Reyna Khalil.)
