Ashley was once dubbed the ‘Ronaldo of hockey’

Ashley clearly thrives on a challenge and finds golf both a difficult sport but also one which is addictive.
He said: “It is challenging, but a sport in which you can always be better.”

He added: “I am looking forward to
working with team-mates old and new at Holcombe HC, contributing to a new team in the Premier League whilst continuing my development as a player. David is a lovely guy and wants the club to do as well as possible, to promote the sport as a whole.
“We don’t receive much funding from UK sport and he sees this as a way of bringing money into the squad and nurturing full time professional hockey players.”

Playing for the Men’s 1st X1, Ashley has been capped 214 times for England and Great Britain. He wears the number 7 shirt for both England and GB, reflected in his Twitter account of @ashleyjackson7
