Investigating
Setting a Goal “To make art for my passion for environ- mental issues in a persuasive way, I decid- ed, instead of a simple work of art, to go with something simple such as conveying a sympathetic and poignant story in the form of a children’s book.” — Alan Huang
Choosing a Global Context “My global context is Identities and Relationships. The reason I chose this is because throughout the making of my personal project, I want to be able to know myself better. Identities and relationships is about people coming together, and challenging yourself to experience things that you thought you couldn’t do. And that is what I am trying to achieve. I want to push myself to the max and see if I can do the impossible and complete the Maclehose trail walker. I also want to bond with my dad. I want this Trail walker to improve our bond and make us closer.” —
Planning
Creating specifications “In order to ensure my goal was successfully accomplished, I defined my specifications. 1. Form: The book will be a hard copy, A5, 28 pages with at least a picture per section.
2. Function: My book’s purpose is to help people by teaching them about adopting a puppy. They are to use it to inform them of their many responsibilities as dog owners. This will be accomplished by getting my product sponsored and published.
3. Audience: The book is for anyone who has adopted/fostered a puppy from Catherine’s.
4. Cost: My printing cost is a maximum of $10,000 for printing 500 copies of the book.” — Savannah Hunt
Taking Action
Reflecting on the success of the product “To see whether I fully achieved my goal or not, I first went back and looked at my design specifications. I also created a survey and had some people test out my game, and based on the results of the survey, found out if they enjoyed the game or not.” – Joy Fahkry
Reflecting
Reflecting on ATL skill use “Out of all of the Approaches to Learning skills that I used through- out the process of the project, researching was the skill I have most improved and built on. This is because the basis and foundation of my entire product is of this aspect, and it was the skill I had to use the most in order to create my product and achieve my goal …I looked for different points of view, unbiased information (as a whole), factual information and comprehensive text to research from to get the best research for what my audience would want to read about.” — Andrew Pearce
Reflecting on the learning journey “I am very thankful for the opportunity to learn about this topic in more depth as I extended my knowledge more than I had imagined through both personal and researched situations. Aſter completing my filming, I was truly inspired to change the way I look at other people and myself. My product taught me how important family is when you are developing a sense of who you are, and this is definitely something I can take on not only now with my family and friends, but in the future.” — Vanessay Kemeny

Selecting sources “In order to complete my product, I started by creating a storyboard, which included each topic and subtopic that I wanted to cover throughout my video as well as what visuals I wanted. This helped me to create a well-structured video that was easy to follow. The storyboard worked as a template and it was easy and efficient to edit footage and add information into it. Before writing about each topic/subtopic, I had to decide what resources I wanted to use in order to collect relevant information. A list of my sources is as follows: Online Research; Downloaded Media; Final Cut Pro X.” — Hugo Christensson
Marcus Højgaard Developing an Inquiry Question “In order to direct my research and clarify my product, I created an inquiry question that will lead me in designing my product and collecting my information; how can I demonstrate my family’s history through food and stories in order to inform the audience about Israel’s lifestyle across different generations?” — Rotem Rozner
