CARLSBERGGIRLS This termhas by far been the busiest with various competitions, events and dramas all taking place…almost at once.House successwas achieved at Battle of the Bands throughMegan King (pictured),whilst trips


have included paintballing, going to theO2 towatch basketball and to Creams in Camberley to samplewaffles, ice creamand pancakes.


Inmore serious activity, theYear 12swent onOpenDay visits to Royal Holloway College plus Reading andOxfordUniversities to seewhat uni lifemight be like in the near future,whilst a teambuilding training sessionwas held for the newprefect team.


SportsRound-Up


It has been an exciting and successful termfor LVS Ascot's sporting teams.


Cricketwas again a huge success,with all teams doingwell in their respective county cup and league competitions.Most notable were theU15swho reached the final of the county vase. The season culminated in a very enjoyable cricketweek,with the highlight being theMCC gamewhere the school earned draw, the first result in this game in a number of years.


GUINNESS BOYS Yet again, the boys inGuinnessHouse have been busy, both in theweek, aswell as during an extensiveweekend activity programme.They havemanaged to squeeze in the following activities this term: a trampolining trip toGravity Force, shopping atWestfield, a


basketballmatch at theO2, a Sunday visit to Reading, the cinema in Bracknell, a PrefectMeal, paintballingwith Carlsberg,Motorexpo in CanaryWharf, theYear 11 Summer Ball,Thorpe Park, aweekend camping in theNewForest, the Boarders’ Masked SummerDinner and all of the usualHouse competitions!Time for awell- deserved rest over the summer now!


Rounderswas also highly successfulwith all teams doingwell in theirAscot Schools competition.Most notablewere theU13swho came runners up.One of themany highlights of the rounders seasonwas the parent/pupil tournament. Let's just saywe can seewhere the girls get their competitive edge from!


GILBEYHOUSE – SIXTHFORMERS This termhas flown by inGilbey underMr andMrs Jarrett. Activity started on the firstweekend sleeping‘rough’on the playground to raise almost £500 for the young people’s homeless charity Centrepoint. Thiswas followed by a busy fewweekswith afternoon dragon


boat racing, a summer drinks party, aHawaiian themed house summer party and numerous barbecues. And then suddenly itwas examseason! Being a sixth formonly houseGilbey has sadlywaved goodbye to half of itsmembers as theymove onwards an upwards, and looks forward towelcoming a newintake in September.


Athleticswas again amajor feature in the termand pupils benefited fromthe experience of professionally coached sessions for the first time. Thereweremany successes, howevermost notablewas Charlotte Jennings-Evans fromYear 7who came second in the ISANational Championships inHurdles.


The sporting yearwas rounded off in style on a sweltering sports day. The record breaking temperatures didn't aid records in the competition being broken, butwell done to allwho braved the heat and competed for their house. TheVictrix Ludorumin each categorywereMaxYip, Laura Ward, LiamSanchez Coppoly and Jordan Shave. Itwas a very close competition, however WhitbreadHouse came out as overallwinners - congratulations to them on a brilliant achievement in the face of very tough competition.
