One of the news events of the yearwas brought to life for fascinated pupils and their families in April. The tale of the discovery in a Leicester car park and subsequent reinterment of Richard IIIwas vividly brought to life by Dr Turi King,who led the international research teaminvolved in the DNA identification of the remains. It formed part of the school’s hosting of Leicester University’sWomen of Influence groupwhich Principal Christine Cunniffe is amember of.

School stories old and newwere swapped at LVS Ascot’s first alumni event as past pupils from18 to 80 attended a champagne reception and barbecue. For some itwas their first visit to Ascot having attended LVS at its previous homes, and theymixedwithmore recent pupiswhilst enjoying fantastic hospitality, a welcome fromPrincipal Christine Cunniffe and a highly entertaining talk fromguest speaker David Keeling. The amazing creative skills of our pupilswere showcased for all to see earlier thismonthwhen the Art Department staged its Summer Show. Amixture of GCSE and A-Level exam pieces providedmany talking points for other pupils and parents as they walked through displays which included art, photography and textiles.
