Apart from being one of the hottest and driest May’s on record, Election fever has swept the country and so there are not so many events happening in June, due to uncertainty as to whom will be in power, after the Municipal Elections which have just taken place.
On Tuesday 26th May at 7.30pm there is a Charity Show in aid of AFA Torrevieja by the Rascals at the CC Virgen del Carmen: tickets
5€. On Saturday 30th May at 8.30pm there is an Extraordinary Spring Concert in the Teatro Municipal, tickets
are free with advanced reservation. On the same night at 8.45pm, Masa Coral Jose Hodar perform in the La Mata church. The last night of the month, Sunday 31st May has a parade happening from 7.30pm by the Sociedad Musical de Torrevieja from the Plaza de la Consitucion to the Teatro Municipal. This is followed by a free concert in the Theatre.
And in no particular order, there are any number of fun in the sun events you may to go to including; Barbershop Performance in Los Montesinos at the Casa del Cultura y Musica on the 29th May at 7pm; the Monsters of Rock at the Madhouse in El Galan on the 29th May at 9pm and finishing May with a bang, The Dreamboys will be appearing in various guises on the 31st May at the Benidorm Palace.

7th June, starting at 10am at the Laguna de La Mata (opposite the cemetery of La Mata). The total distance to be covered is 9km with the possibility of walking or running. Price: 9€ with registration at:

There will be a Tapas Route in Redovan every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from the 29th May to the 14th June. During the weekends, 13 bars, cafes and restaurants will be offering a tapa and a drink for just 2€. Remember to pick up your Tapas Passport and have it stamped every time you try a tapas because you’ll be in with a chance of winning a first prize of 500€ or a second prize of 200€. The participating restaurants, cafes and bars are all listed on their poster.
Grand Prix II with 40 Principales Elche takes place at the Orihuela Costa Go Kart track on Saturday 6th June. Price for registration is 30€. You can test your Top Gear driving skills by sending an email to

www.facebook.com/gokarts.orihuelacosta. There will be great prizes and gifts for all participants.
It has not been announced yet, but usually during the first weekend of June, Torrevieja has a Dia del Bici, Bicycle Day, when hundreds of people, of all ages and nationalities ride around Torrevieja’s seafront and back into the centre of town.
On 13th June at La Zenia Boulevard on the Orihulea Costa, there will be a charity fundraising event featuring a variety of local artists from early afternoon to late evening on behalf of Afecancer. And from the sublime to the ridiculous, the oldest Punk Rockers on the Costa Blanca, Sensa Yuma will be performing with Aznar Youth on 20th June at Monroe’s Music Pub, Calle Apollo, Torrevieja.
