I found this little gem in my usual search zone namely the charity shops that abound in our area. Needless to say what attracted me to the book was the title... Harrap’s Pocket dictionary of slang.


It is a little pocket sized gem that will enable you to be rude to your friends both in English and in Spanish. Once you open the book all those days of yesteryear


as a schoolboy or schoolgirl as


you searched the dictionary for rude words come fl ooding back only with this book can you search for them in another language. I am now able to tell my misses in Spanish that: I am skint...No tengo un duro... or tell someone they are a miserable sod...es un guarro asqueroso. The book offers wonderful opportunities... did you know that Nos echamos un feliciana? is to wonder at the chance of a bit of ‘Rumpy Pumpy’...oh yes it is.
