his month marks the three-year anniversary for Natural Awakenings in the Twin Cities. My, how time flies! I am so lucky to do what I do—meet-
ing readers, practitioners, local business owners, other Natural Awakenings publishers, and getting paid to learn, grow and participate in events throughout our Twin Cities community and the world, in a meaningful way that feeds my soul. I have met so many amazing people and am con- tinually uplifted every week when I hear from readers I meet at events, or who send an email to say, “I love your magazine!” How great is that?!
I’m lucky enough to get to promote groups and organizations that support and educate on things I believe in such as:
Supporting local businesses = MetroIBA Promoting healthy practitioners = Holistic Chamber of Minnesota Educating on being a good Earth steward = MN350 Helping people become eco-savvy = Green Drinks organization Helping animals = Humane Society and other animal organizations
Most recently, it’s the quest to save the monarch butterfly by planting milkweed in our yards and gardens. Schools and senior citizen centers are also taking on this cause and you can too. Buy a free packet of seeds for only $1 shipping from
SaveOurMonarchs.org or visit your local gardening center and make purchases there.
April is Earth Month so there are numerous activities geared toward Earth
Day which is always April 22 (although some places host related activities ear- lier in the month). We have some events listed in our calendar but couldn’t fit them all, so we have posted a more robust list on our website at Natural
TwinCities.com. We’ll be participating in three different expos the first three Saturdays of
