SERCO machine we save a lot of time (sometimes precious time depending on the industry), the security is improved (no heat point, no sparks) and the administrative record is lightened
Where to use a portable SERCO machine-tool? The SERCO machines stand out for their versatility and usage limits have not been discovered yet.
Even if in most cases they are used for flanges and valves seal surfaces repair, these machines are often used for different applications requiring on-site machining.
Examples of valves that may be machined in a refinery: • Distillation : Ball valves (thick fluid) see figure 1
• Catalytic Cracking :Ball valves (for thin dust and high temperatures)
• Desulfurization: Repairs on Valves: On all Valves, the SERCO machines may be used on sealing surfaces, holes surfaces and on the valves seats.
Different seal surfaces with different finishes may be performed (Ra 3.2, Ra1.6, grooves, streaks etc…)
The TU series, by its design allow to machine deep surfaces as seats for examples. With specific tool holders, the TU1100 reaches a depth of 500 mm. Thanks to options (RTJ, inclinable head), the SERCO machines are able to do conical machining on grooves or valves’s seats.
On a flange, the SERCO portable machine tools will work on the seal surface and on the holes part to repair it as a brand new flange with roughness up to 1.6Ra.

Concentric and spiral streaks for non-metal joints are also performed with standard TU machines. The SERCO machines are for all types of flanges: • Flat

• Raised face • Interlocking • Etc ...
And on all materials : • Steel
• Stainless steel • Stellite • Aluminium • Etc...
The first aim of using a SERCO is to extend the working life of a flow control equipment by repairing the damaged seal surfaces. Thereby the following valves can be machined by SERCO :
• Gate Valves: seal surfaces, holes surface, valve seats machining, (conical or parallel seats) On gate valves, sealing surface on each side frequently needs spiral grooves. This operation can be performed with SERCO standard machines
• Plug valves: Valve model widely used in oil and gas especially for high pressure piping. The TU200 is particularly well suited to this
