Court Road.A police operation would be carried out in March regarding this maer. Most of the incidents seemed to take place in the early afternoon. The crime figures for Hollingbourne had been fairly low. Crimes reported in the previous month were two incidents of vehicle interference in Eyhorne Street, and two burglaries (non dwelling) in Upper Street and Pilgrims Way. Nuisance vehicles incidentswere reported in Hospital Road and Greenway Court Road and two in PilgrimsWay. KCC report KCC Cllr Jenny Whilewas concerned about Alison Broom’s response regarding the approved 14 houses opposite Godfrey House and proposed 10 houses between Godfrey House and Claygate because Hollingbourne Primary School simply cannot take any more children. Planning Cllr PeterWaite had aended a meeting with Maidstone Council leader Annabelle Blackmore and cabinet member David Burton regarding the proposed number of houses needed to be built in the Maidstone area (16,400 to 18,600).A point wasmade that the infrastructure could not take these numbers and itwas unlikely it could be improved to that extent.At the public inquiry stage, these figures would be argued with the inspector to achieve the lowest possible number. Cllr Burton and the planning team remained adamant that they stand by the 18,600 figure, however all other partieswere trying to lower the housing numbers. TrafficAmember of the public raised major concerns about the number of HGVs passing through the village. This had been a problem for 20 years. Itwas confirmed


that the signs in the village which discourage heavy vehicles are advisory only and not legally binding. Fete The fete will be on Saturday, June 13 and the themewill be Swinging Sixties. TwinningWith the prospect of 150 twinning friends aending the fete, Barbara Gibbs asked for a donation of £250 for entertainment and refreshments at the village hall. The church had agreed that the coaches could drop off and pick up the visitors at the church approach but they could be parked at the Great Danes Hotel. The money would also be used for a brass quintet to play on April 11. Councillors agreed to this request. Other events being organised included visits by the boules club and the choir. Bob An emailwas received from Mr Davison regarding the sad news that Bob, a long-standing twinning friend, had passed away at the age of 90. Condolence cards had been sent to his family.

Lime trees An investigation would be trialled on one lime tree to determine the extent of the root problem.A team had been established to report back to Lenham Parish Council for further consideration. Neighbourhood plan Designscape would be engaged for phase two of the consultations. Finance The annual budget reviewwas presented for approval. The Maidstone Council grant to Lenhamwas cut for 2015/16. Itwas agreed the local precept would not increase this year – a significant

Communitywarden Headcorn community warden Dawn Riach-Brown introduced herself to the parish council and outlined the services available to the community. Crime report There had been a case of criminal damage to property and there had been one traffic accident. Village hall Ulcombe’s drama groupwas puing on a pantomime of Jack and the Beanstalk. Highways Itwas agreed to contact Kent Highways Services to request a lier pick for the overwhelming amount of lier at the side of the road along the A20 from junction 8 and along Chegworth Road to FiveWents garage. Since the council meeting KHS had advised that Chegworth Road would be closed for pothole and kerb repairs. Annual meeting This would be held in the village hall from 7.30pm on Tuesday, April 21.
