I am delighted to introduce to you Elite Soccer: The Collectors’ Series. All of the coaching sessions that you will find in this book have been written by members of the League Managers Association (LMA).
The LMA represents all managers from the Barclays Premier League, the npower Championship and npower Leagues 1 and 2. LMA members have thousands of professional games under their belts and a unique understanding of how to maximise the output of time spent on the training field.
Never before has the collective coaching knowledge of the LMA’s membership been available to those outside the professional game. Amateur and grass roots coaches now have the opportunity to recreate these sessions with their own players.
Each volume of Elite Soccer: The Collectors’ Series is divided in to sections covering attacking, midfield and full-team, defending and goalkeeping and fitness sessions. This means that you will have a complete set of sessions to help you with your coaching priorities as they change.
All of the managers featured in this compilation have taken the time to write their session plan in a practical way that every coach can use to meet their specific needs. Iwould like to thank each of them for their contribution. Thanks are also due to the LMAfor their continued support in improving the standard of coaching at every level ofthe game.
