Black All-Star team outskates Orange All-Stars
The Black All-Stars team scored three quick goals in the first quarter
before Zack Pires, a sophomore from Villa Park High School, scored for the Orange All-Stars in the fourth annual Anaheim Ducks High School Ice Hockey All-Star game on Jan. 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim. The Black team scored four unanswered goals to take a 7-1 lead. In
the third and final period, the Orange team scored back-to-back goals making the final score 7-3. In the opening Junior Varsity All-Star Game, forward Justin Camba
earned the Most Valuable Player trophy. Camba is a freshman at Villa Park High School. The Villa Park Spartans Ice Hockey team remained in second place
after the All-Star break. On Feb. 21 they face Upland Christian and close the season against Newport-Mesa on Feb. 22 at the Yorba Linda Ice rink.
Canyon High School athletic director Patrick Bendzick announced that six players commited with their Letters of Intent on National Signing Day. Coach Camarco welcomed 15 incoming fresh- man and six returning players to completely rebuild the team after a successful run at the California State Championship title last year. Santiago Canyon College finished in third place. SCC will have six pitchers in
