photos of exceptional quality to choose from, depicting all aspects of life in Mote Park. The photo competition returns again in 2015 and will run each month from 1 March until the end of August. Send your photos (maximum two photos per person per month) to moteparkphotos@maidstone.gov.uk with your name and contact telephone

Mote Park Events


The hugely popular Stargazing Space Spectacular returns to Mote Park for the fourth time this year and promises to be a fun packed day for the whole family. The event takes place at Maidstone Leisure Centre from 1pm – 9:30pm on Saturday 7 March and will feature a variety of attractions including children’s science shows, seven space lectures, build your own spectroscope workshops, a Rosetta Science stand and the opportunity to win a place at the University of Kent’s School of Physical Sciences Space School in August 2015. Entrance to the event costs £1.50 per person (under 5s free). Tickets must be booked in advance from Ticket Source (the sole vendor) via www.maidstone.gov.uk/stargazing or by calling 0333 666 3366. Please note a booking fee of 50p or 10% (whichever is greater) will be charged per booking (not per ticket). An additional fee of £1.50 per booking is levied on telephone bookings which covers admin and standard postage costs. For a small additional charge, visitors will also be able to experience a fantasy space flight simulator and astrodomes featuring sound and light exploration of our galaxy and beyond.

Records of Mote Park date back to 1250, with some archaeological remains dating back to the Romans. Join this guided walk to explore the park’s hidden history.
