Coach Dick Stuetz
passes away A Celebration of Life will be
held on Jan. 17 at the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo at 1 p.m. Before coming to Saddleback,
Dick Stuetz coached at Kennedy High School. Stuetz started coach- ing football at Saddleback in 1969 and was also the head baseball coach from 1975-81. He was a friend to many, including nu- merous athletes from Tustin and Foothill High Schools who went south to play football at Saddle- back. He was a part of a football program that won three national titles from 1985-1996. In addi- tion, Stuetz took over the football head coaching responsibilities in 1998 for a year after the retire- ment of Bill Cunerty. He was honored by the California Com- munity College Football Coaches Association in 2014, where he was selected to be inducted into the CCCFCA Hall of Fame next spring. Stuetz was 81.
