visitors to smile as they wander through the Beard garden. Linda's outdoor art collection, which
includes statues, fountains, metal art and more, has grown over the years. One interesting accent Linda uses throughout her garden is mirrors. Different
sizes and shapes adorn the
fence, reflecting the beauty around them. In order to have an unimpeded
view of the garden from their kitchen window, and a clearer view from the outside, the Beards decided to remove the railing on their deck. The result is an attractive deck with a relaxing view. In addition to gardening, Linda loves
scrapbooking. Combining her hobbies she created a photographic journey, tracking the evolution of the garden through the years. A fantastic way to document the growing masterpiece they have created! After taking part in their first garden
tour two years ago with the Edmon- ton Horticulture Society, Linda was pleasantly surprised. "We never had so many compliments in our lives!" she exclaimed. It was a lot of work though; uncooperative weather forced them to carry heavy pots back and forth from the yard to the garage. "The hanging pots were in and out of my kitchen several times, and we also had to place bed sheets over the many flower beds." All the extra work aside, it was a
wonderful experience and opportunity to show off
their beautiful yard and provide insight for other gardeners. P

Linda’s favourite flowers were the pillar gerani- ums, by the end of August they were growing over the step and had over 100 flowers on each plant.
