In the home

Of course we all want our Maine homes to be cost effective to heat so the dial is turned down when we’re at work or away but our cats and dogs still need some comfort. One of the most comforting splurges I have found over the years is a lamb fleece or any type of fleece that makes you happy. Cats love to snuggle up in them and dogs love them as liners for the beds or couches. They are machine washable, easy to clean and dry and last a lifetime. Encouraging water consumption in the house is important as it is for exercise as most pets are not motivated to drink much when their body temperature is lower. Heating some yummy homemade broth and adding that to their water is a great addition to assure added interest.

While our winters can be long and

unforgiving, keeping our pets safe and healthy in the cold winter months is es- sential to enjoying our time outside with them. I’m certain by following a couple of preventative tips for your pups comfort and safety; you’ll have no regrets for getting out and playing more often. After all, our dogs deserve a healthy, active lifestyle.
