New partner for Maxey Grounds & Co. Alan Faulkner has been appointed as partner at Maxey Grounds & Co LLP.
The chartered surveying firm which offers across the board residential and commercial property services and an auctions house, is the result of a merger between Maxey & Son and Grounds & Co in October 2011. Alan joined Maxey & Son in
November 2006 and qualified as a chartered surveyor in three years later. He is involved in the full range of professional and agency work and is also a regular on the rostrum at the firm’s Wisbech Auction Hall.
Alan will be spending his
working day in between Maxey Ground’s & Co’s Wisbech and Chatteris offices.
Garrington expands South East team. Timothy Stranks has joined the Garrington Property Finders
South East team arriving from a national country house agent. Having spent a number of years as a prime selling agent, Timothy sees his move into the property finding sector as a natural progression. Timothy said, “Having seen the
increasing number of buyers using property finders I am delighted to have joined such a progressive and well respected firm where I can utilise my knowledge.”
Darlows recruits new branch manager for Newport. Sarah Lavery has been appointed the new branch
manager for Darlows in Newport. The 31 year-old has enjoyed rapid career progress since joining the firm in 2005. Darlows, which was acquired by the Spicerhaart Group in 2000, is one of the leading agents in South Wales. Sarah originally started as a sales negotiator, then was soon promoted to lister before becoming sales manager at Llanishen. She was appointed branch manager in Tonypandy before returning to Llanishen as branch manager. Sarah will replace Gareth

Brackin, who has moved to Caerphilly to run the town’s Darlows branch. Sarah will oversee a five-strong team Sarah said, “I am delighted to be
returning to my home town as the branch manager. It has been a steep learning curve since I joined Darlows but I have loved every minute of it and I look forward to working with my new team.” Away from work Sarah loves
attending major music festivals such as Benicassim in Spain.
Marsh & Parsons marks Earls Court campaign with doughnut giveaway. Marsh & Parsons is staging a three day
doughnut giveaway to celebrate the opening of the new Earl’s Court office and to inform local residents of its zero percent commission offer. The 6,000 treats to be given
away will be accompanied by information on five free things to do in the local area, whether visiting the upcoming Heritage Show or viewing the Works on Paper exhibition at the Cadogan Contemporary – and of course, selling your property for free. The giveaway marks the launch of Marsh & Parsons’ ‘On The House’ campaign – a 0% commission offer running until the end of June for home sellers using the Earls Court branch. For Earls Court residents, the drop from the standard commission of 2.5 per cent will save an average of around £21,500. Peter Rollings, Chief Executive, Marsh & Parsons, said, “We thought this ‘doughnation’ would be a fun way to announce ourselves to the local community and mark the launch of our opening offer. We pride ourselves on our local knowledge and customer service, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Our new 0% campaign will encourage Earls Court residents to see for themselves – as well as benefit their finances.” The new office – situated on
the Old Brompton Road – is run by sales manager, Ian Barrett and lettings manager, Danielle Fearnon. Ian has worked in the nearby Notting Hill office for four years, while Danielle is an experienced valuer with Marsh & Parsons in the Kensington & Chelsea area. A number of existing local staff have also joined the team.
Fisher German’s expansion continues. Fisher German, the Cheshire chartered surveyors has
made two senior appointments to oversee the property agency and planning and construction departments in the region. Michael Harris has joined as a
partner and will look after residential operations for Cheshire and the surrounding area; initially based at the Knutsford office he will transfer shortly to the Fisher German Denton Clark office in Chester where he will oversee the management of the agency teams for both offices. Danny McEvoy joins the firm as
associate from Liverpool based Mason Owen. Danny will develop the construction and building surveying services. Michael, who rowed for Great
Britain in the Barcelona 92 and Atlanta 96 Olympics said, “Fisher German is a highly regarded firm associated with professionalism and trust. We have an ambitious estate agency department which we are keen to expand.” Keen rugby player and
footballer Danny said, “The firm is continually growing and already offers a wide range of specialist disciplines which we will develop and grow to provide a more comprehensive service to our clients.”
New Bristol office for Property Finders. Garrington Property Finders has joined forces with Bristol and
Bath property expert Mark Gedye to serve clients in the Bristol, Bath and Somerset area. Mark said, “Wth low levels of
property entering the local market, demand from frustrated buyers for property finding services has been steadily rising in the region over recent years.”
Promotion at Leaders. David Montero has been promoted to branch manager of Leaders’ Forest Hill branch, South East
London. David began his career with Leaders in 2005 as a lettings consultant and quickly made his mark in the firm’s letting league
tables and company awards. Following Leaders’ acquisition of Oaklets in April 2011, David took up the role of letting manager of the firm’s newly acquired Forest Hill branch. Allison Thompson, Leaders’ regional director said, “David has worked tirelessly to integrate the new business into our network. His promotion is well deserved.”
New Land Partner for Sequence.
Andy Gledhill has been appointed as partner at Sequence Land.
Andy brings over 11 years experience in land sales and acquisitions to his new role and will be covering South Suffolk and Essex. Having worked for both national
and regional developers in the East of England, Andy is well placed to advise Sequence’s developer clients on land acquisitions Andy said, “I am thrilled to take

New Managing Director for Badger Holdings. Caroline Kavanagh has been promoted to Managing Director
of lettings and management at Badger Holdings, parent company of Townends and Regents estate agents. Caroline’s new position is one of
many promotions within the lettings and management team, created to broaden the Group’s hierarchical structure in order to support growth plans for 2012. Townends recently opened a branch at Goldsworth Park, West Woking, added a lettings service to its Addlestone branch and is to open in Northfields in May. Caroline, originally joined the
company when she was 18 years old in 1997 as an administrator, moving into a lettings role shortly after and progressing through the ranks to her current role which will also see her overseeing INEX Property Solutions, a property and maintenance service. Caroline said, “My progression is
a great example of the company’s desire to identify, nurture and grow talent internally.” l
