PRESIDENT’S PERSPECTIVE

Nebraska Trucking Executive Committee GREETINGS FROM LINCOLN!

Well, with our annual Fall Management Conference behind us, we are now ready to begin a new program year with new leadership on the Executive Committee and Councils. It’s always exciting to begin a new season with a fresh start and new opportunities to get more of our members involved in the Association. I would like to congratulate the new slate of officers on our Executive Committee which this year will be headed up by our newest Chairman Chris Klotz of Sapp Brothers Trucking. Chris brings to the committee a long history of work in the industry and participation not only as a board member, but now with over 5 years on the Executive Committee.

In addition to naming our new Executive Committee at the Fall Conference, it was

also great to see Tom Pirnie of Grand Island Express being presented with this year’s Golden Deeds award and Elyse Mueller, the chief of Nebraska’s FMCSA Division as our 2013/14 Woman of Distinction. A complete rundown of all of the “of the year” award winners can be seen on our website WWW.NETRUCKING.COM. Congratulations to one and all for their achievements!

Just a quick reminder that we have appointed an enthusiastic group of Holiday Party organizers for this year’s event. Keep an eye open for further details on what they’ll be doing to increase member attendance and participation in the fund raising. Tis year’s event will be held Friday, December 12th at the Tiburon Golf Course in Omaha. Tis event has a long history of helping out those in need, while at the same time allowing all of our members the chance to get together to see old friends and make new ones. Please help us make this event bigger and better than ever.

With the close of the 2013/2014 program year, I realized that I have just completed my 10th year as your President of the Association and a total time of 15 years after serving 5 as your Development Director. It has been a pleasure working with everyone and to have the opportunity to serve you. Tank you for your patience, loyal support and friendship.

Until the next edition.
