6 NA Twin Cities Edition

win Cities Green Drinks will meet at 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, December 9, at the Republic in Minneapolis. Republic 7 Corners restaurant and bar is Green Drinks new regular meet-up location. Until last summer, Green Drinks met the second Wednesday of every month,

switching to different locales around the Twin Cities from session to session. Local organizer, Michelle Hamburger, explained that it would be helpful at this

juncture to have consistency at the monthly meetings as some locations did not lend themselves to having speakers be heard. Plus, it was hard for people to find new and different locations and figure out parking, especially during winter months. “With one location that works, we know what to expect. And the Republic has been great to work with—receptive to our needs and very accommodating,” says Hamburger. For December, the nonprofit organization TLC, Transit for Livable Commu- nities, will be hosting the evening and offering attendees an interactive discussion panel on topics surrounding public and no-motor transportation in the Twin Cities. Anyone is welcome to attend (RSVPs requested for December’s meet-up only). This free monthly meeting brings eco-minded citizens together to network and

get to know others that are working or personally involved in sustainability efforts. Green Drinks is a global organization found in cities all over the world. The organization is made up of local volunteers that bring people together each month to share ideas, stories, goals, news and other environmental information.

Location: Republic, 221 Cedar Ave. S., Minneapolis. RepublicMN.com. For more information, visit GreenDrinks.org or GreenDrinks.org/MN/Minneapolis-St.Paul.
