SABRE
SPONSOR OF THE GLASGOW BUSINESS AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN SKILLS AND LEARNING
SaBRE – Supporting Britain's Reservists and Employers – was set up by the MOD to
advise UK employers on the employment of reservists. Even if you don't currently employ a reservist, it's good to know where to turn should circumstances change – and to understand exactly how reservists can help make your workplace stronger. The reserve forces are a vital component of our armed forces. They have made and continue
to make a major contribution to the defence and security of the nation. In future, the reserve forces will have a more significant role and will be integrated with the regular forces as a larger proportion of the whole force. As part of this change, the Ministry of Defence
(MOD) has recently completed a consultation period and has published the results in the White Paper "Reserves in the Future Force 2020: Valuable and Valued". During this review the MOD consulted with various employer groups for their views on its proposals. These views have been listened to and the MOD is working hard to make the changes employers have asked for. To enable this, the MOD seeks a new relationship with employers, which is: open; based on mutual trust; and tailored to reflect the different opportunities and impacts for each employer. These changes could result in significant benefits for employers. To find out more about what employing
reservists can do for your business, contact Susan Flintoff on 0141 945 6751 or visit

SCOTRAIL
SPONSOR OF THE GLASGOW BUSINESS AWARD FOR CREATIVE MARKETING
Since launching in October 2012, the ScotRail
Business Direct solution has gone from strength to strength.
Designed to help both public and private
sector organisations derive best value from their business travel budget, clients continue to see year-on-year savings of between 25 per cent and 36 per cent.
The solution offers lots of different ways to save time and money; with any-card ticket collection, options for shaping travel policy, and the facility to create questions, making the management of internal cost-allocation and data analysis a whole lot easier. Each client has a dedicated account manager
who provides support with implementation of the booking solution and delivers training for users. They can also offer help and advice on internal change management and guidance on how to get best value for money, with detailed analysis of buying behaviours and suggestions on how to continually improve the purchasing profile. An innovative approach took the ScotRail Business Direct solution out on the road recently; with a series of invitation-only road shows. Held in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, these events were designed to be informative, yet informal. Comprising four short workshops, which demonstrated key elements of the solutions' functionality, the sessions offered the delegates the chance to network with industry peers and meet the team.
