Rory Bremner brings the laughs to Quarriers in Glasgow

One of the nation’s most-loved impressionists Rory Bremner gained a first-hand insight into the work of Quarriers, an Official Charity of The 2014 Ryder Cup, as he visited the charity’s Stopover Service in Glasgow recently. Meeting several young people during his visit, Rory spoke with them about their experiences and backgrounds, learning how they are supported by Quarriers through its Stopover Service and its pioneering Coaching for Life initiative.

Dales Cycles

New cycle shop opens at Queen Street train station

Cyclists who use Glasgow’s Queen Street train station as part of their journey are in for a treat with the opening of a new cycle shop in the station. Dales Cycles, Glasgow’s oldest

and largest local bike shop, recently opened its first outlet in one of the city centre’s train stations. The new store is designed to promote integrated travel and will cater for the needs of commuters who use both train and bike, as well as tourists looking to hire some wheels to explore Scotland. The new store, located in the

station’s former lost property office, provides a range of services, including repairs and bike hire, and is stocked with clothing and essentials such as tyres, inner tubes, lights and nutrition products. Dales Cycles has worked in partnership with First ScotRail to launch the in-station store. Cyclists arriving at the station will be able to leave their bike in the shop and have Dales Cycles’ team of expert mechanics carry out urgent repairs while they’re at work, collecting their bike at the end of the day.
