September 18, and singer Mol- lie King is sure the fans will love every moment. “It’s going to be an abso- lutely massive night out,” she says, “a really good party

show and a celebration of all of our singles. “You won’t really need to

know have bought the album because you’ll know all the words to the songs. There’s going to be loads of glitz and glamour. ” Catch The Saturdays at Car-

Leeds Festival appearances this weekend, the British five-piece are heading back to the States in September for a headline tour. The same month, they also have a run of dates in Australia and South East Asia. This year alone, they are set to play to a staggering 1/2 million people. Cavalier Youth was record-

Acclaimed duo release ive-track EP

RECORDED May 2014 in the Shetland Islands, Mareel EP is a new five- track recording from acclaimed songwriter- guitarist Kris Drever and banjo and tenor guitarist Éamonn Coyne. Born in Orkney Kris

Drever moved to Shet- land early in 2014. Taking its title from the

local Shetland cinema and arts centre where the music was recorded with a cast of local musicians, Mareel EP features a new version of Drever’s song Wintermoon about which Kris Drever says “I had worked a new version up a couple of years ago for a BBC performance in Orkney so I already had

the alternative feel in my mind. With the big group of Shetland musicians available to me it seemed like now was a good time to get that version down. I had always wanted to hear Wintermoon in three-part harmony. It feels different enough to me from the Lau version to be heard without con- juring up the original.” Éamonn Coyne says “When I heard Kris sing Wintermoon with the two harmony vocals it made me think of the changes in the season and con- jured up a sentiment that feels typical of Kris”. Kris Drever & Éamonn Coyne are at Bristol Folk House on September 19.
