AUGUST 2014 DOGGIERESCUE.COM MAGAZINE

Athos is so gentle he even plays with the tiny puppies...

IN THE BEGINNING AT A COUNTRY POUND

Athos had a sad start to life as he was dumped into a country pound with his litter mates when just 10 weeks old. Luckily they were saved by DoggieRescue but shortly after arriving all came down with parvo. They clung to life with a great tenacity but for a while it was touch and go and then the brave puppies turned the corner and started to respond to the care at The Cottage Animal Hospital.

THEY WERE THE THREE MUSKETEERS!

Aramis, Athos & Porthos were released from the vets on 5th November 2013 when 14 weeks. Aramis, the female, was adopted first in February 2014 and then Porthos followed her being adopted in March. It seemed that it would not be long before sweet Athos was adopted too. Time passed with no adoption so Athos grew up thinking DoggieRescue was his forever home. He is now 12 months old.

MONIKA SAYS OF ATHOS….

Athos is incredibly obedient and responsive to gentle handling. He is a gentle boy but typical of the breed can be nervy. Athos is used to being around lots of other dogs right down to Maltese size. He respects them all. Athos is used to an acreage environment and would do best with a family experienced with Belgians / rescue experience with Shepherds. Easy to handle he has an amazingly placid nature.

Athos, our August cover boy and runaway winner of our Facebook Competition, needs and deserves the very best of forever homes, even though it will be so hard for everyone who loves him to say goodbye….
