THE QUEEN AND I

On a recent outing to the beach Queenie was so well behaved and happy. I could feel her ex citement translate through her leash. Her nose touched the sweet smells in the grass and we started off on our special outing at the doggie friendly park and beach. Her paws tracked along the cool wet sand of the beach, paddling through the water as she went along. She looked up at me and then tried a little deeper this time. Her day was only complete after the sheer joy of rolling in the sand to dry. Queenie and I enjoy the time we spend together and our occasional outings and I can see the true potential of this small-medium dog within the love of a forever home.

What was it that drew me to Queenie when she first arrived at DoggieRescue? Well, she certainly was not noisy, pushy or aggressive. Ex actly the opposite! She was cautious when she first arrived, her brow actually creased into worry lines and she looked at me tentatively, checking out what I was doing amongst the clamour of the other dogs. Within a short time she moved closer and her gentleness was clearly evident. I started stroking her head and then within a day or two moved to her back and now her very favourite time is an enthusiastic tummy rub. If the tummy rub is to her satisfaction she jumps up and runs laps around her
