[WHAT’S NEW]

WHAT’S NEW WRE WEBSITE OFFERS UPGRADE ON FORM AND FUNCTION Wire Rope Exchange (WRE) is excited to announce the launch of our redesigned

website. You may have noticed the new look, but what comes with that look is a range of enhanced features designed specifi cally to make the user experience more effi cient, more productive, and more value-added.

Those familiar with the site will notice that we maintained the familiarity of the design, while adding in some functionality improvements. Our key goal was to create a smoother process, with additional features—with much of the redesign based on feedback from users. We wanted to increase the value of the Exchange for everyone that visits, and stay as progressive as possible in the way we allow our users to buy, sell, and communicate.

If you’ve never visited the website, or you’re new to the redesign, you’ll fi nd that it functions similarly to the magazine—as a catalog of equipment, connections, and information— with the added benefi t of quick, easy access to members in the new “Directory.” Once within, you can search member companies by name or geographic region—and even browse a company’s inventory, visit their website, contact their representative, or purchase straight from their storefront. You’ll also continue to experience up-to-the-minute industry news with a simple click. And our “Need” section serves as a virtual classifi ed ads—where members can list anything from jobs to equipment.

Ultimately, WRE is a total resource for businesses. Not only does the site off er companies an opportunity to interact, and do business, with existing members in the WRE marketplace, it also allows them to market their brand to a whole new audience. With over 8,000 hits a month, the website provides an opportunity for companies, both large and small, to reach a potential customer base much larger and more available than normal. In many ways, the WRE site can easily serve as a company’s ecommerce web platform—without the costs of a personal website.

With the upgrade, we wanted to provide as much access as we could to the information and resources our users need to run successful businesses—in the most organized and accommodative environment possible. Essentially, we want members to put WRE to work for them.

On the new site, there are two diff erent ways we off er ourselves to businesses. We have the Plus Membership, which gives you visibility within the “Directory,” as well as the ability to contact and purchase products from other member companies. With this feature, you gain access to the WRE marketplace, and by setting up your online profi le—complete with logo, business description, and linking to your website—the marketplace gains access to you.

We also have the Premium Membership, which includes all of the advantages of the Plus Membership, as well as the option to create a storefront within the WRE site and sell products to a much broader and more diverse customer base.

Additionally, we’ve made it easier for anyone, regardless of membership or not, to buy products through the WRE website. The Basic Membership allows visitors access to products and company representatives through the “Directory,” as well as the opportunity to utilize the full spectrum of features available on the rest of the site. All visitors can easily secure the membership package that best suits their needs by clicking on the “Subscribe” button within the Sell, Directory, and Magazine links in the navigation bar.

So go check out the new WRE site as soon as you get the chance. There’s a lot to get excited about. We can’t wait for your feedback, and we truly hope we’ve created even more opportunity for the growing WRE member family. y
