And now, some 43 years after PATIENCE, we are extremely proud to deliver the 3000th Sabre, a Sabre 48 Salon Express, to Boston Yacht Sales of North Weymouth, MA. Times have changed, and Sabre Yachts today builds powerboat models in a range from 38 to 54 feet with a 66-footer under development for a 2015 launch. The Sabre 48 has been a strong part of the Sabre range for some time and continues to be extremely popular in markets all over the USA. Boston Yacht Sales has already delivered several Sabre 48s to clients in Massachusetts.

At its two facilities in Raymond, ME,

Sabre Yachts employs approximately 160 associates. These men and women current-

ly build four models from 38 to 54 feet in length. In addition, Sabre’s sister company, Back Cove Yachts, of Rockland, employs about 150 associates building the Back Cove 30, 34, 37 and the newly introduced Back Cove 41.

Six River Marine in Yarmouth had several projects underway this past winter. One of the major projects was to put

the fi nishing touches on the Black Horse 29. Last year she was launched, but there was still a lot of fi nishing details that needed to be done. This winter they added rails, stainless steel chaff-gear, electric panel and wiring, installed cockpit locker doors, fi nish out the

Another boat they were getting ready for the upcoming boating season is a Sabre 32 sailboat. She has been in to have her brightwork redone, installation of a new Edson steering pedestal, had hardware removed and rebedded, and installed new handrails on the trunk top. Another project was a True North 33. She had her head rebuilt and holding tank removed and replaced. They then added a water fi ltration system, new doors and cabinets, redid the cabin sole, repaired the hatch in the cockpit fl oor and redid some of the plumbing system. A major project, and maybe one of the most interesting on the coast, is the rebuild- ing of a 46-foot commuter yacht. There is

a question about who designed this yacht. The thinking is either Gerry or Monk. She was built in British Columbia, Canada. The fi rst aspect of this rebuilding project started with her bottom. To accomplish that they removed her interior and then her garboards. Then they removed her fl oor timbers from the bulkhead aft. They have fabricated a new horn timber and that will be going in next. They also have a section of the skeg to fab- ricate. This project has been on hold while the storage customers were made ready for the season, but they will be back working on this classic soon.

The work load on the coast of Maine has been incredible this past winter and that has
