42 May/June 2014 SPECIAL Oldenburg SECTION

AMERICAN-BRED JUMPERS Although many of these horses are younger, we have a strong group of breeders sending a welcome message to competitors in North America. Foremost in this area are Kc Branscomb of Branscomb Farm in Half Moon Bay, California, and Silver Creek Farm in Tulsa, Oklahoma. One example is the young 2010 stallion Castifino BF, bred by Branscomb Farm and now owned by Gigi Papasavvas-Froelich, who was approved as a stallion by the Old- enburgs in 2013. At his inspection last year, this horse demonstrated the excellent jumping technique breeders should strive for. It is also worth mentioning Jennifer and Armin Arn- holdt, who at their Dreamscape Farm in British Columbia are breeding both hunters and jumpers from their talented mares and stallions. Tere are many more individual breeders of hunters and jumpers that are well acknowledged within our registry. Using many Hol- stein jumpers as a base and now some Selle Français, Oldenburg and KWPN stal- lions, we are pleased to showcase so many of these really gifted young horses. Utilizing the concept of only breeding the best to the best again, we can find outstanding young horses coming up the ranks. Since the turn of the century sparked the special birth of

the Verband’s jumping division, many Oldenburg-bred horses are now succeeding at the top of the sport. We are proud of the accomplishments of our jumping, hunter, eventing and dres- sage horses, and we expect the future to continue to bring more and more of these talented sport horses into the international spotlight.
