Summary overview: An international review compiled by the author that ―identifies and provides information on
relevant legislation on bullying, harassment, discrimination, and violence and enforcement requirements, as well as recent developments in these areas in individual countries It sets forth an employer‘s responsibilities and liabilities based on legislation in Western and Eastern Europe, the Asia Pacific Region, the Americas Region, and to a lesser extent in the Middle East and Africa.‖ (pg. iii).
Review: I have not seen a more exhaustive list of pertinent legislation and compliance guidelines on these key issues from an international perspective.
This book effectively lists and explains how interactions specific to workplace bullying, harassment, and even violence are described, defined, and legislated in each of the countries represented. It is extremely useful that the terms and definitions are listed as they appear in each country‘s legislations; as an example, the term ‗mobbing‘ is used in Scandinavia and Germany.
This is a great reference resource for those doing business internationally, not only to have a better understanding of the laws and regulations concerning these important topics, but also to have clear direction as to where to go to find more information.
It is important to follow the laws and guidelines in the countries in which we do business; it imperative to do so with the best interest for the health, safety, and security for employees.
