As part of the Showroom Showcase this edition, Jade Tilley was lucky enough to experience the sumptuous comfort of some of Baxter’s most beautiful, comfortable and innovative furniture designs. With the Milan Furniture Fair not long passed and fabulous furniture at the forefront of the feature, Jade has selected three stunning seating arrangements from the Baxter collection, proving that you can be fun, frivolous and inventive when it comes to furniture design, whilst still incorporating craftsmanship and embracing technology.
DOLLY Baxter’s Dolly armchair pays homage to the mid-century era. Its retro-shaped back, piping and brass-tipped beech legs create a typically Fifties look, but Dolly’s butter-soft Nabuck Rose quilted-leather upholstery, Baxter’s speciality, means that it’s just as comfortable as any contemporary model. The armchair features simply charming brass feet endings, cushions and border upholstery with a special square quilting and decorative piping in the same shade of leather. Dolly is available in all soft leathers. Price: £5,376 (inc vat)
BERGERE The Bergere Lougue armchair is upholstered in printed leather with textures inspired by classic fabric patterns such as herringbone, pied de poule, and polka dots. As with the entire Baxter printed leather designs, Bergere has a sense of tactility to it, you want to reach out and touch it to see how your fingers respond to the patterns created. The soft leather gives nothing away but a silky smooth finish that looks like it will envelope you in its deep, heavy set arms. These classic prints pay homage to vintage and retro designs while the leather brings the armchair into the future of great chair design. Price: £7,308.00 (inc vat)
MIO .
The Mio sofa is a special edition seat by Baxter and has a very original personality, suitable for young and modern, but also in the
most formal environments. It is characterised by a leather displaying a colour difference between the seat and the backrest cover and by
slender legs which give it a sense of lightness. It has a frame in pine and poplar and turned and satin-finish brass feet. The padding is in differentiated density polyurethane foam filling with acrylic fibre covers. It has decorative piping in the same shade of leather to
