THE DUST has barely settled on the May Design Series and Clerkenwell Design Week as we go to press. Designers are still milling around the showrooms and sitting in on discussions; it’s a vibrant display of design at the moment in London. The design community is racking up the twitter figures with tweet upon tweet of their most favourite and desired products and designs from all that they have seen this spring season. Don’t forget to follow @IDTmagazine and search for #IDTLoves as we pick out our most coveted designs from both events and continue to bring you the very best from our product galleries. As we collect design gems for future issues we are in the

planning stages of the IDT Awards. Much thought and detail is going into the category selections, judges and potential entrants as we begin to bring together awards that acknowledge and celebrate talent in the industry. Keep your eyes peeled for more information about how to enter in the coming months. In this issue we have a suitably summery Shortlistfeaturing featuring grass greens and outdoor furniture to take you through the season. Porada’s tables in white would make a gleaming addition to any interior or exterior and Evitavonni’s collaboration with Anna Sykora spices up alfresco dining. Our special features include a fabulous flooring feature with trend reports and expert comments from leading flooring designers, a mini spotlight on fabrics and highlights from Milan back in April. Seymourpowell, trend regulars, divulge their top picks from the Italian exhibition. Our designers this issue include Charu Gandhi, the new Head of Design at Morpheus, who takes us through her design journey in the Designer Profile, Kelly Hoppen, whose icon choice is sure to ring true with many of our readers and Chris Jenkins of Peldon Rose who goes crazy with creativity in the workplace environment. It’s a game of bravery when it comes to office design and Chris and his team have shown that it’s certainly a mad (hatter) world.
