The Special Care Baby Fund
The Special Care Baby Fund is an independent charity that raises money to provide additional
equipment, training and parent facilities for the Special Care Baby Unit, SCBU, at the Princess Royal University Hospital, PRUH.
The SCBU Fund supports the PRUH neonatal team in offering a care pathway that gives the best care available for babies on their unit, and alongside this providing facilities and support for parents who can often find having a baby who requires Special Care a difficult and stressful time.
The Trustees are parents who have had a baby on the Special Care Baby Unit, Health Professionals who work for the PRUH and
professionals within the local community who are able to offer a supporting skill.
What all Trustees have in common is that they give their time freely and make no charge for the expertise they offer.
This year we are supporting the Special Care Baby Unit by raising funds for a new transport incubator. The specialised incubator allows babies to be monitored and provided with oxygen whilst being safely transported to other units for treatment.
