Medical Thermography Expands in Fort Myers

outhwest Medical Thermal Imaging (SMTI), of Bonita Springs, now also


provides digital infrared thermography imaging (DITI) services at Axis Natural Medicine, in Fort Myers. In addition, Taryn Kean, CCT level III, of SMTI, will lead a presentation, Thermography’s Role in Breast Screening and Body Health, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., May 8, at the Axis practice. DITI is a simple test that relies on the sympathetic


nervous system’s control of skin blood flow and its ability to react to pain, pathology, injury or dysfunction anywhere in the body. It can detect developing pathology in breast tissue years before other diagnostic tests. DITI is non-invasive, pain-free, emits no radiation and there is no contact with the body. The equipment used is an FDA-registered medical screening device and breast exams take approximately 15 minutes. In some instances, full body scans are requested and take about 30 minutes. All thermal imaging scans are performed by clinically certified thermographers and all images and results are re- viewed and interpreted by board-certified M.D. thermologists with quality control by peer review.
