ROOM 204 Exploring California’s Water Woes with the Education and the Environ- ment Initiative (EEI) Curriculum and Project WET Join high school teacher Laura Walls as she highlights how EEI – California’s groundbreaking, first- in-the-nation K-12 environmental education cur- riculum - can connect student’s to real life issues such as California’s current drought emergency. Attendees will be introduced to several EEI Curriculum water units and learn how this subject can be used to support Common Core and Next Generation Science Stan- dards. Attendees will also participate in a hands-on activity lead by Project Wet coordinator, Brian Brown and learn how EEI and Project WET naturally comple-


ment one another. Laura Walls currently teaches Medical Biology at Duncan Polytechnical High School in Fresno, and has served as a classroom teacher for over 11 years. Brian Brown is the California Project WET Coordinator and joined the Water Education Foundation in 2004. All session attendees will be eligible to order a complimentary EEI Curriculum unit.
