energy storage works to reduce the demand portion of their utility bill by 50%. We will also discuss the types of energy storage, their applications, and how public entities are using Prop 39 funds to deploy these systems. Lastly we will review Case studies the County of Santa Barbara, LAUSD and Peralta Community College District.

ROOM 103 EV Car Share – A Strategy for Smart Growth and Transportation for EJ Communities This session will offer an inside look at the transportation, land use, envi- ronmental, and social benefits of Car Share Programs. As empty nesters and millennials alike look to live in vibrant downtown environments where full- time auto ownership is not necessary; and as environmental justice communi- ties struggle to provide transportation alternatives for access to jobs and services where full-time car ownership is unaffordable, Car Share Programs are appearing as viable alternatives. And many other settings are appearing where the convenience and savings afforded by Car Share Programs pro- vides access to creative and affordable mobility, thus making our communities a better places to live.

ROOM 104 Communities “SEECing” Success and Recognition from Climate Action Planning Attendees will learn how cities and counties from across California are us- ing the free resources, software, forums and recognition opportunities provided by the Statewide Energy Efficiency Collaborative (SEEC) to save energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare climate action plans that result in reduced costs for their communities. The panelists will discuss the tools they have used and how those tools helped them address climate change, save energy and receive statewide recogni- tion for their leadership. The workshop will describe the resources available through SEEC, look at different ways to collaborate with neighboring agencies, and how to access SEEC and other resources address climate change, energy efficiency and sustainability leadership.
