The Newbury AIM-listed group Immedia, which provides bespoke radio programmes to various stations and retailers, grabbed the headlines in the region’s share price league table for February with a 65% price hike.
The company received a boost when it announced it had signed an extension of its contract to supply services to the Lloyds Banking Group.
Another big success story was the 36% rise in the share price of Tissue Regenix Group, the regeneration medical devices company. The company describes its focus as delivering “practical solutions to real critical issues”, using its patented technology to address many clinical needs such as vascular disease, heart valve replacement and knee repairs.
It recently announced it had signed seven independent regional sales distribution agreements in the USA, where it now aims to target every state.
The biggest price rise among larger companies was the 17% rise by Dixons Retail following speculation of a deal with Carphone Warehouse.
Dixons issued a statement confirming it was in preliminary discussions regarding a possible merger. The company said: “These discussions are at a very preliminary stage and there can be no certainty that a transaction will be forthcoming. No decision has been reached regarding a structuring of any such merger.”
Under stock exchange rules the company had to announce any firm intention by March 24.

Buckinghamshire New University offers its first degree at Aylesbury College
Bucks New University is to teach a Business Management degree at its partner organisation, Aylesbury College, from May 2014.
The BA (Hons) Business Management (Aylesbury) qualification will be taught over three years, two days a week, at the college in Oxford Road, Aylesbury.
Applications are being taken for the course, which will be taught by Bucks New University lecturers and takes place on Friday afternoons and Saturdays, costing £5,000 per year.
The University, which has its main campus in Queen Alexandra Road, High Wycombe, is looking to bring degree education ‘to people’s doorstep’.
said the move to offer degrees at Aylesbury College marked 'an exciting chapter’ in building on what the university had to offer.
He said: “This gives people the opportunity to gain a degree in their local area and avoid the time and cost associated with travel.
“The degree at Aylesbury College is set up so people can shape their studies around their working or family lives and we hope that teaching hours on a Friday afternoon and Saturday will be convenient.
“The degree will be taught by experienced lecturers from Bucks New University and the course includes the opportunity to work with businesses on live briefs.
“It is ideal if you are interested in developing in-depth knowledge and understanding of the core functions of business and management.
“We feel this represents another development where Bucks New University is showing its commitment to offering education that meets the needs of people today.”
Graeme Lindsay
The course is aimed at students who have completed similar qualifications at Aylesbury College; people who live in the area and want to study for a degree; or employers wanting to develop their staff. School leavers are also being targeted.
