am so thrilled to be celebrating my one-year anni- versary with you..how time has flown by! It seems like just yesterday I joined the NAPC family of al- most 100 publishers throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. What a wonderful experience this has been. I have met so many wonderful people along the way, including readers, community members, practitioners and business owners. There is a plethora of holistic/ healthy living businesses and resources here in Hud- son County offering services and products to help you on your journey to wellness.

I am so pleased to be a part of that community and sharing information with you about these amazing individuals and businesses that support that lifestyle. Thank you for your emails, phone calls and social media messages helping and encouraging me through my learning curve as a Natural Awakenings publisher. It has meant so much to see what an impact this publication has had to so many of you. Please email me any questions or topics you want to learn more about and I will do my best to get you the information in the months ahead. I have been a nature lover since I was an 8-year-old girl playing in the woods with my best friend Dee Dee—coming home covered in mud was a con- stant occurrence, much to my mothers dismay, but I didn’t care; I loved being in nature, playing and exploring. As an adult, that love continues, which is why I selected “Park It Here,” by S. Alison Chabonais, for this month’s Healthy Kids department. My family and I have traveled to all the National Parks east of the Rocky Mountains, and even when my youngest was only 3 years old, we drove to 10 hours to Maine’s Arcadia National Park with a camper on the back. We hiked, roasted marshmallows and searched for

animals, birds and plant life to earn my children their first junior rangers badge. Don’t get me wrong, I can really enjoy a 5-star hotel anytime, but there is just something about being in nature that you can’t explain unless you’ve done it yourself. Kids love the one-on-one time, no distractions or other commitments. Its just family time and fun. I encourage you to think about a camp out with your family; there’s nothing quite like it.
Thank you again for celebrating my anniversary with me. I look forward to many more years with you.
