WHAT’S NEW GAYLIN’S MALAYSIA FACILITY UNVEILS 3000T TEST MACHINE, PERFORMS BREAK TEST ON 135MM DIAMETER WIRE ROPE


Gaylin International is proud to announce that their recently completed 100,000 square foot Malaysian plant has added a WIROP 3000t (6.6 million pound) test machine to their facility. The test bed received certifi cation in accordance with DNV’s calibration procedure QAD-SL-10, written with reference to ISO 7500-1:2004 Part 1 Standard. The DNV certifi ed test machine’s load read out is accurate to +/- 1%. Recently performed on their 3000t test bed was a destruction test on a 135mm diameter (almost 5.5”) Kiswire wire rope. In addition, Gaylin International celebrated a strong year as net profi t rose 17 per cent to $3.7 million in the


second quarter of the 2014 fi nancial year, compared with the same period the year before, while revenue soared 38.8 per cent to $29 million. The stock listed at 35 cents on Oct 24 last year and closed at 59 cents at the end of December. The company, which employs 160 staff in Singapore, will be busy next year. It will acquire 51 per cent of the share capital in Rig Marine Holdings FZC. Rig Marine, which supplies and inspects deck equipment, operates in the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. Gaylin has also acquired 90% of Korean company Phoenix Off shore, a wholesale trader and chandlers’

To continue to serve the ever increasing demands of the off shore industry, Bishop Lifting Products has added a new wire rope swager in the Houston Rigging Department. The new 3700 metric ton Talurit swager was installed and operational in early November. The new capacity will allow BLP to swage up to 6-inch diameter wire rope. This will be replacing our 1500-ton swager, which is being sent to the Broussard, LA branch as an addition to their current Rigging Department. y
