ment, he notes.) He says research has shown that cod liver oil boosts brain and nervous system function; helps reduce the negative health effects associated with polyunsaturated oils, especially partially hydrogenated oils; and helps off- set certain nutritional deficiencies and some symptoms of impaired pancreatic function. A pioneer in the modern use of cod liver oil is medical researcher Dr. Weston Price, who found that it works best in combination with high-vitamin butter oil, which contains vitamin K. After studying cod liver oil and its benefits, Lea found only one company that produces cod liver oil combined with butter oil. “Green Pasture, a family-owned business based in Nebraska, makes a full line of food oil products that I would consider the gold standard in the industry,” Lea says. Lea’s NHS carries the butter oil/cod liver oil blend, as well as many other Green Pasture products. To learn more, visit GreenPasture.org.

Crystal Healing Class with Fleur de Luna

H

ouse of Fleur De Luna will host an introductory crystal healing class December 14 from 10 a.m. to noon. “It has been documented through the course of history that crystals hold a space for healing and transfor- mation,” notes owner Christina T. Diaz. “Though much of this information was almost lost, it now has been explored in more depth than ever before.” “Introduction to Healing with Quartz Crystals” will

cover the healing uses and properties of amethyst, carnelian, citrine, rose quartz, clear quartz and tiger’s eye. “If you are a practitioner of the healing arts, crystals can assist in the active process by showing and teaching us how to align ourselves with the essence that creates and comprises the en- tire universe,” Diaz says. Crystals work very well with other healing modalities, she adds, noting that Reiki pioneer Usui Sensei used crystals in his practice.

“Crystal becomes a mirror that reflects the light within through meditation, visualization, yoga and prayer,” she says. “They can be used to calm the mind, increase self-control and promote inner peace in connection with truth. Crystals represent the light, and if you are tuned correctly to the vibration, they can teach us to use more of our own light and to expand it.” Diaz notes the words of Mahatma Gandhi: “In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself to crystal clearness.”

The cost of the class is $25. For directions and to RSVP (re- quired), e-mail contact@Fleur-De-Luna.com. See ad, page 4.
