Performance for Life, chiropractors Chris and Kristina Bearden, DC, have expanded their practice with the open- ing of Performance Chiropractic and Acupuncture at the foot of the moun- tain on Dayton Boulevard. With Chris Bearden’s focus on sports medicine and acupuncture, and Kristina Bearden’s spe- cialty in prenatal and pediatric care, the second location will make the husband- and-wife team’s broad menu of therapies

more accessible to more patients, Kristina Bearden says. “We’ve done very well with our practice on Signal Mountain, and it quickly became clear to us that there was a demand for our type of health care in the downtown and North Chattanooga areas, where there are a lot of active people and a growing number of families,” she says. Both lo- cations will be staffed five days a week, she adds. “Chris will be in the Red Bank office Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, when I’m in the Signal Mountain office, and then Tuesdays and Thursdays I’ll be in the new office while Chris is on the mountain.” She says acupuncture services will be offered at both locations along with chiropractic care, offering people in the Chattanooga community a choice of alternative health-care options.

Signal Mountain Chiropractic is located at 1807 Taft Hwy. (423-886-3330). Performance Chiropractic is located at 1748 Dayton Blvd. Ste. C, in the Verizon building (423-760-8880). For more information, visit SignalMountainChiropractic.com.

ComputerEze Picks Up, Recycles Electronics

C

omputerEze, a North Georgia company established in 1990, is now offering recycling of almost all electronics, from stereos to computers. According to owner Fred Evans, the original focus of ComputerEze was to help small businesses integrate com- puter technology into their growing companies. Over the years, however, Evans noted how rapid changes in technol- ogy resulted in an overflow of outdated equipment, which often ended up in landfills. ComputerEze began taking in the old equipment, stripping it down and recycling it. “That has expanded into the recycling of almost all

electronics,” Evans says. “We can repurpose almost anything. We donate some items to local charitable organizations for

Restorative Class, “Quiet” New Year’s at CSY

W

inter classes at ClearSpring Yoga (CSY) will include a new Restor-

ative Class from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. ev- ery Sunday. Teacher Candy Eddinger, who is a 320-hour restorative special- ist, says the class is designed to facilitate “a joyful state of awakening in a supported, conscious, mind-body relaxation practice.” The class will involve gentle, prop-supported restorative poses and culminate with a deeply restorative savasana designed to relieve fatigue and stress, promote well-being, and bring healing balance into students’ practice. “Each week we will explore a different area of the body,” Eddinger says. “And on the last Sunday of each month, we will dive into a deeply restorative Yoga Nidra practice, encouraging a state of con- scious sleep for extreme relaxation.”

A different kind of relaxation will take place at CSY

on New Year’s Eve from 6 to 8 p.m. As a way of showing the staff’s gratitude for the community’s support throughout the year, CSY will host a free, two-hour “quiet celebration,” including meditation space in the Wolf Den, simple refresh- ments and peaceful music.

CSY offers more than 30 yoga classes each week, including Flow, Fundamentals, Gentle, Yin, Intermediate, All-Levels, Slow Flow, $7 community classes, and a free introductory class at 2:30 p.m. the first Sunday of each month. For class, event and workshop information, visit ClearSpringYoga. com or call 423-266-3539. CSY is located at 105 N. Market Street, Chattanooga. See ad, page 12.
