recycler,” Goodwill repurposes most items it receives. The numbers speak for themselves:
• 500,000 pounds of salvage diverted from landfills each month
• some 6 million pounds of textiles, books, shoes, paper, cardboard and more sold annually to third-party firms for repurposing

That’s a lot of salvage saved from landfill oblivion. And those are
just the numbers for the Chatta- nooga Goodwill Industries service area. They don’t include the thou-

Goodwill.com.
Donating to Chattanooga Goodwill is the first step in fulfilling the nonprof- it’s green scheme. With 20 stand-alone donation sites and 14 store-affiliated centers, Goodwill makes it convenient to cull the clutter and donate. They’re called “attended donation centers” for a reason: there’s an attendant onsite to unload items from vehicles and offer donation receipts—always helpful for tax records.
Shopping at Goodwill is another
way to “go green.” Choosing gently- used goods over brand-new ones
